Use cases

Since they are perfect for the management of fluxes , reading gates are widely used in logistic management and retail. A gate is equipped with many antennas, whose position and orientation is designed to get the best reading performance; these antennas are connected to a reader, which sends data in-cloud or is connected to a PC. The reader we selected can support up to 16 external antennas (5 dBi / 9 dBi / 12 dBi).

Gates are usually installed in in/out thresholds, just like loading/downloading bays and chockepoints - places where the goods must pass through. In retail warehouses, gates are usually installed in the area where the goods list and the invoice is prepared, to accelerate the process of document production, and in the warehouse, so that the inventory upload and download is nearly instantaneous.

Sometimes reading systems are to be installed in non-optimal situations, like when space is not enough. In these cases, it is crucial to shield the signal from extra tags placed in the whereabouts of the gate. A Faraday cage is then used, a closed metal structure that allows the field to be only its inside.
